In 1962-63, India issued an attractive Animals set (Scott #361A-66). 400,500 sets were issued, and Scott '10 prices the set at $19.00 unused. The majority of sets were used as postage.
This set should be targeted for aggressive accumulation, as an undervalued popular topical issue from a nation of 1.2 billion people which is becoming an economic superpower. I expect that in the coming years, the "serious" stamp collecting population of Indians will number in the millions.
